The Mosin Minute - Episode 55: Testing .303 British Reloads with the Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 at GPSR

The Mosin Minute - Episode 55: Testing .303 British Reloads with the Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 at GPSR Video Clips. Duration : 9.98 Mins.

Here's the last vid of the this series at the Garland Public Shooting Range, from back in September just when the weather was getting bearable. In this video, we spend our entire remaining time at the range shooting the capable Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk 1, made in 1943 at BSA. I tested out some .303 reloads, reusing a mix of Prvi Partisan and Winchester brand cases. Here were those specs: Prvi Partisan and Winchester X-Brand .303 British Brass (Boxer Prime) Large Rifle Primers Hodgdons H414, 47 gr. (medium load) up to 47.5 gr. near the end Sierra bullets, 125 gr. After working up the loads from last time, it looks like 47 gr. powder is about optimal to propel a 125 gr., .311 diameter bullet in this gun. I didn't make any further tests of bullet seating depth, where I had it for most of these reloads seems to work the best. I start out going for broke and shooting just reloads at 100 yards (no 50 yarders this time). And the first target of 15 is full of shots in the green, this gun really works well at 100 yards with reloads. A far cry from my initial reloading attempts back in the Spring of this year...I think I finally have the hang of it for reloading .303 British ammo! My range buddy stayed with the 50 yard target for this series (commercial Prvi Partisan rounds as usual), and he's definitely improved with this rifle...got most on the green, a few in the red! Anyway, enjoy the video. I have another more recent range trip from October to GPSR, but the next vid or 2 will be ...
